Crafting Live at Doncaster 2016 - Top Tips.

Hello Crafty Friends,

If you follow us on Facebook you may have noticed we recently went on our first ever major crafting day out to Doncaster Racecourse for the 2016 Crafting Live (formerly Summer Crafting) in association with Create and Craft TV.

Excuse the wet hair, we got drenched on the way from the car park- first tip: Take an umbrella!
We had a blast. The event was a great opportunity to discover new-to-us brands, indulge in some serious retail therapy and get a little bit starstruck when we saw our favourite Create and Craft presenters. It is the perfect day out for crafters and we will be definitely be returning. However, all day on your feet in the hustle and bustle can prove tiring so here are our top tips for making the most of your visit.

Impromptu Chocolate Fix

Hola Amigos!

So it's sort of crafting, in a roughly put together, make it up as you go along kind of way.

I had that urge we all get for rich and creamy, yummy chocolate one evening, luckily I had stocked up on a couple of well priced bars from Morrisons for such an occasion. Tutorial: A Card For A Football Mad Dad!

Football Handmade Card for Men craft blog blogger lifestyle

Firstly I'd like to apologise for the image quality throughout this blog post. All images were taken on my iPad and whilst at the time they looked amazing that doesn't translate so well on the laptop and I can't retake them because this card is currently sitting on the recipients mantelpiece and I'd look more than a little vain popping round the in-laws to take pictures of my own work! Cringe.

Crafternoon Projects #2

Hola Amigos,

Welcome back to another sunny crafternoon. The weather has been glorious today and we've pitched up at the brightly lit kitchen table for another session of crafting, tea and putting the world to rights. Ian the dog is pitter, pattering around our feet and we're both working on cards for upcoming birthdays but the first job on the agenda is to repair a vintage necklace that had belonged to Beth's grandma.

Self suggested commission...

Our good friend is baking her second baby in her belly oven and I had been discussing her ideas for the nursery with her over a cuppa one afternoon.

Later that day she posted on 'DIY on a budget' Facebook group asking if anyone had decorated a nursery in grey and yellow and for any inspiring photos. Being in the group myself I commented with a few pictures I found on trusty ol' Pinterest, including this little cutie
